The indoor air quality symptoms we hear most
- I dust the shelves and it is back in two days Filter bypass, leaky return ducts pulling from the attic or crawlspace, or an undersized filter cabinet
- The house feels clammy even with the AC running Oversized cooling with short run times, poor latent removal, or a need for whole-home dehumidification
- My nose bleeds and the floors crack every winter Low indoor humidity, no humidifier or one with a scaled panel and closed water valve
- There is a musty smell when the blower kicks on Wet coil and pan, plugged condensate drain, or microbial growth in the plenum where UV treatment may help
- Allergies are worse inside than outside Low-grade filtration, no fresh-air ventilation, and infiltration through leaky duct connections
Whether you call it indoor air quality work or air purifier installation, the work is identical and so is the quote you approve first.
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1 Check the air filter. If it is grey, loaded or bowing in its slot, change it and make sure the replacement sits square with no gaps around the frame.
- 2Confirm supply and return vents are open and not blocked by rugs, beds or storage. Closing rooms off raises pressure and pushes dusty air through duct leaks.
- 3Look at your thermostat settings. If it has a fan mode set to ON all the time, switching it to AUTO often cuts humidity complaints in summer.
- 4Clear leaves, grass clippings and fence-line growth back from the outdoor unit so it can reject heat and finish longer cooling cycles.

What does whole-home air purification actually do?
A whole-home purifier sits in the ductwork and treats air every time the blower runs, rather than one room at a time. Depending on the type it captures fine particles or reduces odors and microbial growth. We size it to your system airflow so it does not choke the blower.
Do I need a humidifier and a dehumidifier?
In much of our service area, yes. Summers here load the house with moisture and winter heating dries it out. A humidifier works in heating season and a dehumidifier in cooling season, and both can be wired to run only when the house needs them.
Are UV lights worth installing?
UV lights help most where moisture sits, meaning the evaporator coil and drain pan. They cut down the musty smell that starts at a wet coil. They do not replace filtration, and lamps lose output over time, so plan on replacement every year or two.
Why is my house humid when the AC is running?
Usually short cycling. A system that is too large for the house satisfies the thermostat fast and never runs long enough to pull moisture out. Leaky return ducts and a fan set to ON also add humidity. We measure before recommending anything.
Will a better filter fix my dust problem?
Sometimes, but a thicker filter in a cabinet that leaks around the edges just lets air go around it. We check for bypass and for return duct leaks first. A filter cannot clean air that never passes through it.
What about a gas or burnt smell from the vents?
If you smell gas or your carbon monoxide alarm sounds, get everyone out of the house first, then call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Call us after the scene is safe. Do not open panels or relight anything yourself.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form with what you hear, smell or feel. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping. Details on your porch help us arrive with the right parts.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, the indoor coil and blower, then the outdoor unit and electrical side. You get a plain explanation of what failed and why it failed.
- Step 3
You approve the repair
We walk you through the fix and any parts involved before we start. Once you say go, we make the repair and confirm the system is holding temperature before we leave your driveway.

Why homeowners call us
- Built for hard summersWe work on attic air handlers in July heat, undersized returns in older subdivisions, and condensers with hail-flattened fins. Those are everyday jobs across the region, so we know where these systems tend to give out first.
- Air conditioner repair and heating repairOne crew for both seasons. Air conditioning repair when the house won't cool, heater repair and furnace repair when the burners won't stay lit. Same technicians, same records, so nobody starts from scratch in November.
- We explain the failureYou hear which component failed and what it was doing to the rest of the system. If a repair is a short-term patch on an aging unit, we say so and let you decide the timing.
- Respect for the houseDrop cloths, shoe covers, and the attic hatch closed the way we found it. We keep the work area clean and we tell you honestly when a problem is airflow or ductwork rather than the equipment itself.
- All major brands, gas & electricOne independent crew for Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and more.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
