Emergency No-Heat Repair

Emergency no-heat repair is what we do when your furnace or heat pump quits and the house is dropping into the 50s. We work on no-heat calls for homeowners across Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, from a furnace that locks out on ignition to a blower that spins without warming anything. Call us and describe what the thermostat is doing. Before we arrive, you can check the thermostat batteries and settings, look for a tripped breaker, and swap a clogged filter. If you smell gas, leave the building, call 911 or your gas utility, then call us.

What an emergency no-heat call involves

We start with what the system is actually doing, because a furnace that never tries to fire points somewhere different than one that lights and shuts down a minute later. We read the control board fault history, confirm the thermostat is calling, and follow the sequence of operations from call to burner to blower. Most no-heat visits end with one failed part identified and replaced the same trip. When a part has to be ordered, we tell you that on the spot and talk through safe temporary heat.

What we check and what we replace

Common causes we find on heating repair calls are failed igniters, dirty or cracked flame sensors, pressure switches held open by a blocked flue or condensate line, and bad limit switches from long-term airflow restriction. On heat pumps we look at defrost boards, reversing valves and the auxiliary heat strips. We also check the return side, since undersized returns in older subdivisions overheat a furnace and trip the high limit again and again. Parts get replaced, then we watch a full heating cycle before leaving.

How we decide emergency service is the right call

If the house is losing heat and outdoor temperatures are below freezing, that is an emergency and we treat it that way, especially with infants, older adults or anyone with health concerns in the home. Same for any burning smell, repeated breaker trips, or a system that short cycles on and off. If the house is holding a livable temperature and the issue is uneven rooms or a noisy blower, we can schedule a regular furnace repair visit instead and give the diagnosis proper time.

Emergency No-Heat Repair — quick answers

My furnace clicks but never lights. Is that an emergency?

If the house is cold and outdoor temperatures are near freezing, yes, call us. Repeated clicking usually means the igniter or flame sensor circuit is failing to prove flame. Do not attempt to light anything yourself.

Should I run space heaters until you arrive?

Portable electric heaters can hold one room over, but keep them clear of bedding and furniture and off extension cords. Never use a stove or grill for heat. Tell us what you are running so we can plan the visit.

What if the breaker keeps tripping when I reset it?

Reset it once. If it trips again, leave it off and call us. A repeating trip means something in the high-voltage side is drawing current it should not, and that needs a technician, not another reset.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form with what you hear, smell or feel. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping. Details on your porch help us arrive with the right parts.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, the indoor coil and blower, then the outdoor unit and electrical side. You get a plain explanation of what failed and why it failed.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the repair

We walk you through the fix and any parts involved before we start. Once you say go, we make the repair and confirm the system is holding temperature before we leave your driveway.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for hard summersWe work on attic air handlers in July heat, undersized returns in older subdivisions, and condensers with hail-flattened fins. Those are everyday jobs across the region, so we know where these systems tend to give out first.
  • Air conditioner repair and heating repairOne crew for both seasons. Air conditioning repair when the house won't cool, heater repair and furnace repair when the burners won't stay lit. Same technicians, same records, so nobody starts from scratch in November.
  • We explain the failureYou hear which component failed and what it was doing to the rest of the system. If a repair is a short-term patch on an aging unit, we say so and let you decide the timing.
  • Respect for the houseDrop cloths, shoe covers, and the attic hatch closed the way we found it. We keep the work area clean and we tell you honestly when a problem is airflow or ductwork rather than the equipment itself.
  • All major brands, gas & electricOne independent crew for Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and more.
  • Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
