Furnace Repair — Book a Visit Today

We repair gas and electric furnaces for homeowners across Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, and if your house is cold right now, call us and we will get a technician headed your way. Most no-heat calls come down to a cracked ignitor, a sooted flame sensor, a failed blower motor or capacitor, a clogged filter choking airflow, or a control board that has stopped talking to the thermostat. A visit starts with your thermostat and filter, then we check the burner sequence, the safety switches and the electrical side, and we tell you what failed and what it takes to fix it. If you ever smell gas, leave the building first, call 911 or your gas utility, then call us.

The furnace symptoms we hear most

  • The furnace blows but the air is cool Burners not lighting, failed ignitor or flame sensor, or gas valve fault
  • It fires up, runs a minute, then shuts off Short cycling from a dirty flame sensor, blocked flue or overheating on restricted airflow
  • Nothing happens at all when I raise the thermostat No power, tripped breaker, blown low voltage fuse, control board or thermostat wiring
  • There is a loud bang when the heat kicks on Delayed ignition from dirty burners, or duct expansion at an undersized return
  • Some rooms are freezing and others are fine Blower or capacitor weakness, closed dampers, duct leakage in the attic run

Search for it as furnace repair or heating repair and you land in the same place: one visit, one written quote.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Check the thermostat: fresh batteries, set to heat, and the temperature set several degrees above the room reading.
  • 2Look at your breaker panel for a tripped breaker on the furnace or air handler circuit, and the switch on the unit itself if it looks flipped.
  • 3Pull the filter and hold it to a light. If you cannot see through it, put in a clean one before you call.
  • 4Walk the house and confirm supply and return vents are open and not blocked by furniture or rugs.

Furnace Repair — quick answers

My furnace quit overnight. How soon can someone come out?

Call us and tell us the house is cold. No-heat calls get moved up, especially with small children, older adults or hard freeze temperatures in the forecast. Before we arrive, check the thermostat, the breaker and the filter so we can start further down the list.

What is a flame sensor and why does it keep failing?

The flame sensor is a small rod that proves a flame is present. Combustion residue builds a film on it, the furnace stops seeing flame and shuts down for safety. Cleaning or replacing it is a common repair, and repeat failures usually point to burner or airflow problems.

Do you repair electric furnaces too?

Yes. Electric furnaces and air handlers with heat strips fail differently, usually a burned sequencer, an open limit switch, a failed contactor or a blower motor. It is high voltage work, so leave the panel closed and let us open it.

I smell gas near the furnace. What do I do?

Leave the building right away, do not flip switches, and call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Let them make the house safe first. Once they clear it, call us and we will inspect the furnace, the gas connections and the heat exchanger.

Is it worth repairing an older furnace?

Often yes. Ignitors, sensors, capacitors, blower motors and control boards are normal repairs on a furnace with years left. We tell you what failed, whether the heat exchanger is sound, and what we would do if it were our own house.

Why does my furnace smell like something is burning?

A dusty smell for the first hour of the season is usually dust on the heat exchanger and it clears. A hot plastic or electrical smell is different. Shut the system off at the thermostat and call us, because that points to a motor or wiring problem.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form with what you hear, smell or feel. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping. Details on your porch help us arrive with the right parts.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, the indoor coil and blower, then the outdoor unit and electrical side. You get a plain explanation of what failed and why it failed.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the repair

We walk you through the fix and any parts involved before we start. Once you say go, we make the repair and confirm the system is holding temperature before we leave your driveway.

Why homeowners call us

  • Built for hard summersWe work on attic air handlers in July heat, undersized returns in older subdivisions, and condensers with hail-flattened fins. Those are everyday jobs across the region, so we know where these systems tend to give out first.
  • Air conditioner repair and heating repairOne crew for both seasons. Air conditioning repair when the house won't cool, heater repair and furnace repair when the burners won't stay lit. Same technicians, same records, so nobody starts from scratch in November.
  • We explain the failureYou hear which component failed and what it was doing to the rest of the system. If a repair is a short-term patch on an aging unit, we say so and let you decide the timing.
  • Respect for the houseDrop cloths, shoe covers, and the attic hatch closed the way we found it. We keep the work area clean and we tell you honestly when a problem is airflow or ductwork rather than the equipment itself.
  • All major brands, gas & electricOne independent crew for Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and more.
  • Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
